The Netflix produced "Filthy Rich" of 2020 is a harrowing documentary series to watch. The victims who come forward and tell in detail the horrible crimes of sexual abuse done by Jeffrey Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell are doing something extremely brave. While it's very hard to listen to, you should continue watching. Jeffrey Epstein was arrested on July 6th, 2019, on charges of trafficking of minors. This was the second time they managed to get him. Back in 2008 he was convicted of the same crime but managed to use his influence, power, and billions of dollars to get a sweetheart deal. He spent 13 months in custody, with an extensive work release, and left the premises frequently to go to his homes in New York City and his private island, Little St. James. "Filthy Rich" spends a large portion of the series, made exclusively for Netflix and only available for streaming on their platform, about this particular case. It was also these events that happened in his Florida home which caused him to be arrested once again in 2019.  The docu-mini-series was released in 2020 and met with positive reactions. It is based on a book by James Patterson titled "Filthy Rich: A Powerful Billionaire, the Sex Scandal that Undid Him, and All the Justice that Money Can Buy: The Shocking True Story of Jeffrey Epstein", with production starting a whole nine months before Epstein's arrest in 2019 and announced back in 2016. To try to keep out of Epstein's reach, the team worked with secret servers and even locking up their video material in safes during production. During the early 1970s, Jeffrey Epstein studied mathematics at New York University without receiving a degree. He was also a talented amateur pianist and would later be a major donor to Interlochen music camp in Michigan, the most prestigious camp for musically gifted children where he also had private lodging. After his studies, he started teaching physics and mathematics at a prestigious private school for high schoolers, Dalton School in the Upper East Side, despite not having a degree from college. He was hired in 1974 and was fired two years later due to poor performance. During this time, he became friends with the CEO of an investment bank and was hired there as a junior assistant and quickly worked through the ranks. He was eventually fired from this job as well but remained close to his colleague. After this, he started his own financial consulting firm, where he acquired many high-level clients. It is believed this is where he started building his fortune and getting close to many high-profile people within the finance and political world, among them businessman Leslie "Lex" Wexner, which is allegedly one of the main sources of Epstein's wealth and his 7-story Manhattan mansion was a gift from Wexner to Epstein. "Filthy Rich" is available right now for instant streaming on Netflix. With FILMANDTV.com you can easily start watching it right now with our quick links directing you to its page on Netflix! As mentioned above, the docu mini-series is based on the 2016 book by James Patterson and focuses mainly on the first investigation into Epstein's sex crimes and trafficking in Florida, though it covers some of the events in the summer of 2019 during his arrest and subsequent death. He was found dead in his cell on August 10th, with the cause of death being highly disputed by professional medical examiners. Epstein was held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, nicknamed the "Guantanamo of New York" due to its great security measures and dangerous inmates, such as notorious drug cartel leader, "El Chapo". Epstein had a companion or rather a partner-in-crime, Ghislaine Maxwell. The two were extremely close for decades, while she acted as a procurer of young girls for Epstein. However, after his last arrest, she has seemingly disappeared from the face of the Earth. The story of Epstein and his child trafficking operations is a bottomless pit of horror stories. This documentary being so easily available for many people is a great way to learn about him and the power he possessed, acting above the law.
